APSX-PIM MUD Base A universal MUD base designed to make 3D printed or metal mold inserts fast to mount, align, and swap on the APSX-PIM. Each side of the MUD features a dense ½" pitch mounting grid using 1/4-20 threaded holes—ideal for repeatable fixturing of printed inserts, clamp bars, and custom retention plates.
This mold comes with the bushings and pins installed. You just need to mount your 3D printed or metal mold insert. The 3D printed molds can be made by using Origin, FormLabs, Markforged, Stratasys or an Asiga 3D printer with high temp and high conductive plastic material. You can also use 3D printed metal molds made by MANTLE 3D Printers.
Key Benefits: Rapid changeovers: swap 3D printed inserts without redesigning your clamping scheme Dense mounting grid for flexible hole patterns and easy insert retention Built for repeatable alignment and consistent insert positioning Great for prototype molds, low-volume runs, and EDU/training applications Please read this 3D PRINTED MOLD USERGUIDE for more information. If you like to get some consulting on how to design 3D printed molds for different applications, you can always contact with our partner Lasse Staal at 3DPMOLDS.com .
3D printed insert molds are NOT included. This video on our YouTube channel may help you to understand how to perform this on the APSX-PIM machine:

There is no temperature sensor hole provided for the 3D mold inserts.
The mold insulator should be used to stabilize the mold temperature over time.
