Every resin is packaged for classroom, R&D, and prototyping, and works with the pre-installed test mold on new APSX-PIM machines.

PP Natural — 2 lb

Baseline resin with smooth flow and stable shrink—great for first-shot success and verifying ejection and gate balance.

TPE Black — 2 lb

Soft, rubber-like feel to demonstrate flexible part behavior and surface texture differences vs. rigid plastics.

PP Yellow or Blue — 2 lb

Same easy-processing PP with color for visualizing flow fronts, knit lines, and short-shot fill patterns during demos.

HDPE Natural (Purge) — 2 lb

Low-viscosity resin used between materials to clean the barrel and nozzle quickly, minimizing cross-contamination.

Each resin in this kit has been test-run on the APSX-PIM V3 with the pre-installed aluminum test mold. Load, set temperatures and shot size, and you’ll be producing consistent test parts in minutes—ideal for machine shakedown, student labs, and process training. Packs are sealed and clearly labeled for storage.

Quick-Start Tips (with the APSX test mold)

  • Start with PP Natural to dial in shot size and hold time, then move to colored PP.
  • Use HDPE to purge when switching from PP to TPE (and vice-versa). Run until color change is clear and parts are streak-free.
  • Record settings (melt temp, mold temp, pack/hold, cooling) and compare part dimensions across materials.
  • Keep pellets sealed when not in use; re-seal between labs to minimize moisture pickup.

FAQs

Can I mold parts with all four materials?

Yes. PP (natural + color) and TPE are for test parts; HDPE serves primarily as a purge resin but can also mold simple parts for comparison.

Do I need to pre-dry these resins?

They’re sealed to minimize moisture pickup but there is no need for drying these selected materials. For best results on repeat use, re-seal promptly.

Will this work without a custom mold?

Yes—the kit is designed to produce test parts using the pre-installed APSX test mold that ships with new APSX-PIM machines.
